【Beijing Winter Olympic】Services ramped up for Games

The 24th Winter Olympic Games' formal opening ceremony began on February 4 at Beijing's National Stadium, better known as "The Bird's Nest." Since then, a new chapter has begun for this important international sporting event.

With the theme "Together for a Shared Future," Beijing 2022 will host the most varied and extensive event schedule in the history of the Olympic Winter Games, bringing together many competitors from across the world in events like speed skating, ski jumping, snowboarding, curling, freestyle skiing, and bobsleigh.

All of the aforementioned Winter Games competition events take place in excellent and secure venues that have been divided into three zones, or clusters: Beijing, Yanqing, and Zhangjiakou.

The Zhangjiakou Zone, which is slated to cover an area of roughly 12.03 km2, is situated in Taizicheng and the nearby Chongli District in Hebei Province.

The 106.55-hectare National Cross-Country Ski Centre has 5707 m2 of permanent building space and 17400 m2 of temporary facility space. Modern pro sound systems with full audio coverage deliver rich, clear sound reinforcement to the audience area.

National Ski Jumping Centre

The National Ski Jumping Centre is known as "Snow Ruyi" because the platform's cross section resembles the S-shaped curve of the traditional auspicious ornament "Ruyi" from ancient China.

The Zhangjiakou host region's most technically challenging ski jumping site, it is the first in China to achieve international criteria.
